The dredging of fish ponds is an essential production process in fishery production. Here are several common methods for dredging fish ponds, hoping to be helpful to everyone:
(1) Artificial dredging:
For ponds with small areas that cannot be cleared by mud pumps, such as those below three, they should be dried in the pond for a period of time after autumn or early spring when the fish products are clean. When people can stand, they should be manually excavated. For larger ponds, manpower is too labor-intensive and requires an additional period of drying. When the feet do not sink, a bulldozer is used to clear the silt, which is more labor-saving and slightly more expensive than a mud pump. However, its advantage is that it can repair the damaged areas of the pond slope.
(2) Riding on frozen dredging:
In ponds with large areas that have not been cleared for many years, deep silt that cannot be operated by machinery, and cannot be cleared with mud pumps, winter frozen layers can be used for dredging. Before entering winter, the fish are taken out of the pond to dry, and after freezing in winter, they are directly taken down to the pond to remove the frozen layer and silt soil, one layer a day, until the bottom of the pond.
(3) Using a mud pump to clear sediment:
In fish ponds near farmland or between fish ponds with spacious ridges and low-lying terrain, as long as there is a place next to the fish pond to store mud, such ponds can be cleared with mud pumps after autumn harvest. After sedimentation and drying, the mud can be transported to farmland for fertilizer application. The labor intensity of using a mud pump to clear silt is low, and it costs about 2 yuan per cubic meter of silt. This method is relatively economical and has been widely used.
